Chinese President Likely to arrive in Pakistan Next Week

khalid mahmood - 14:54

The Chinese leader was expected to visit Pakistan in 2014 during his trip to India,
Sri Lankan and the Maldives but postponed it due to the ongoing protests against
the government in Islamabad.
According to sources privy to the development, the Chinese president is expected to
arrive on April 9. “He would hold high-level meetings and unveil several economic
projects,” the official said. Jinping is also expected to address the joint session
of Parliament, added the official.
There are over two dozen MoUs and agreements regarding nuclear power, the Gwadar port,
the Pak-China Economic Corridor (PCEC), energy, trade and investment that are likely to
be signed. The Foreign Office had earlier confirmed that the Chinese president’s will
take place this year but did not give exact dates.
